In this week's installment of Athlete's Voice, SBJ's Joe Lemire spoke with Jeb Terry, UNC grad and former NFL offensive lineman turned president and CEO of Cosm.

The immersive tech company based in Utah is set to open its first locations in Los Angeles and Dallas with broadcast rights to the NBA and UFC. Terry leads a C-suite with some of his fellow Fox Sports executives (Devin Poolman and Sheli Reynolds) and leaders from the companies Cosm acquired, such as C360 and Evans & Sutherland. Read the whole interview here.

Jeb Terry will be a featured speaker at SBJ DRIVE next month in St. Louis. SBJ DRIVE, a conference hosted by SBJ and AXS, will cover topics including facilities operations, franchise management, ticketing revenue and business analytics. You can register here.

PlayMetrics, a youth sports operations management software provider, has announced a partnership with investment firm Blue Star Innovation Partners (BSIP), SBJ's Rob Schaefer reports. Financial terms were not disclosed, but BSIP, which was cofounded by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and entrepreneur Rob Wechsler, will take a “significant ownership position” in PlayMetrics as part of the deal. The partnership is expected to expedite the speed at which PlayMetrics releases new products and adds new customers, with a focus on expanding its current client base into more youth leagues, tournaments, and governing bodies.

PlaySight has inked an exclusive partnership with Pickleball Kingdom, I reported yesterday. The AI camera company’s SmartCourts system will be installed in all current and future Pickleball Kingdom facilities.

PlaySight has partnered with more than 100 collegiate tennis programs around the nation, providing a fixed multi-camera setup that can record high-def video and live stream, with the ability to track play and create instant replays as well. The MLB, NBA, NHL and USTA have also used PlaySight's video and streaming tool.
